Accordance Bible Software App Reviews

I cannot recommend Accordance enough! I paid for one of the biggest packages while at Dallas Theological Seminary, and it got me through school. Now for the most part, I use this on my phone and iPad (since Im not writing papers regularly). Unless Im writing a sermon, I use the ESV, and as I pan through verses, the commentary stays with it. I use the Bible Knowledge Commentary. You get more for your money with Accordance than Logos. Your entry price is only $50! Anytime you highlight a word, it will give you the Hebrew or Greek definition and context, other verses, etc. Accordance is well worth the money.

This is what a Bible study app should be. Handles original languages wonderfully, even DSS transcription diacritics.

Great app, now that I know how to prioritize lexicons for default search. The method for doing so is terribly non-intuitive. Still wish I could easily switch between them to consult multiple lexicons for a single lemma. Also, organization is poor when it comes to selecting resources for the secondary pane. Wish there were categories to organize resources instead of a giant running list that isnt alphabetized, organized by date-installed, or any other logical foil. Something better would help immensely. Lastly, (minor) some form of auto-sync (on open or close, every 10mins, etc...) would be super awesome and helpful! Thanks for a good app.

I use the Accordance app in conjunction with the Accordance software on my Mac. Because of that, I have access to a great selection of additional resources that I have purchased. In the past, this App often seemed "clunky." It was difficult to navigate. Accessing resources was harder than it should have been. No more. The latest upgrades have made resources more accessible and my Bible study much more productive. I love highlighting a term and the lexicon definition displaying in a pop-up. A couple of taps on the screen, and Im reading from a commentary. Adding notes is quick and easy, and everything I do is synced through Dropbox. Copying and pasting to Evernote is simple. No matter what platform I am using - iPhone, iPad, or Mac - picking up where I left off is never a problem. I use an older iPad2 with only 16g of storage, so file size matters to me. Even with multiple commentary sets and other resources, Accordance uses just over 1g of my storage. I find that amazing. And even with an older, slower processor, access speed is still very good. To the developers I say, thanks for a great product, and keep up the good work.

The Accordance bible app is THE reason for anyone to own an iPad Pro!I am in my third year of Biblical Hebrew, and the BHS is so much easier to study with this app. I can simply touch a word that I am interested in and I have lexicons and commentaries and encyclopedias to research its meaning. I have an extensive library of reference works in my home, but with this app and the modules available for it I can carry most of that library in my hand. I have the accordance software on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook, which makes it possible to read or study everywhere. If Accordance continues to add new reference works, I will soon have my entire library of resources at a fingers touch. I show this app to all my friends who are serious about Bible study, most already know about Accordance, but few are familiar with the IOS version. They get excited when they see it, and all that it can offer, especially with this recent update! I am excited to see what new modules are coming in the future. The only thing some people mention is the price, but I know from experience that if you purchase the hard copy of any of the texts in this app you will pay more, and not have the convenience of simply tapping the screen to find a page, word or article. This app is worth buying an iPad just to get to use it, and the latest update is the best version yet!!!Thanks again Accordance.

The Accordance Bible iPad App is the main reason I bought an iPad. I used the iPhone version for years before getting an iPad. It is the most important app on my iPad and I am constantly amazed at the kinds of searches I can perform on it. This latest update with the split screen makes it even more useful. Thanks to the guys at Oak Tree for all their hard work.

A great Bible study app that allows you to have all your digital content with you on your iOS device. The iPad split screen multi-tasking feature is great for productivity. Love this new update.

Comes with ESV as the translation, which is the Calvinist-created and approved version. No thanks... Ill pass.

Ive used all the popular Apps/ computer programs. Ive been a TA for greek and hebrew classes and this is the best for people who actually want to study the bible. Its got a great interface and is more user friendly than some of the popular apps out there. Its easy to compare versions and use your biblical languages

This is by far the best bible software out there. The app is quick and mimics the desktop version well. With the latest update they added split view and slide over, which makes working with a text document plus this app a fantastic experience. I also like being able to quickly search for verses from the iOS homepage by just swiping down and typing the reference in spotlight. Keep up the good work!

So easy to use, and so useful for mobile Bible study app. Could you possibly allow us to make our own folder/categories to divide up the titles we own? Just like what you can do on the desktop version. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering what book is in which category.
